Oct. 4th, 2004 10:40 amI know, I know, I haven't posted in forever.
I've been working on my boat all weekend. The seating area over the engine fell apart during the last hurricane, and a bunch of water got into the bilge. Then, my bilge pump (that problem child-o-mine) shut itself off, so water got over the starter motor and the whole thing fused into one hunk of useless metal and drained the battery. I spent most of the day yesterday trying to get the starter motor off the engine, and finally did it around sunset last night. Ended up being just two simple bolts on the bottom, but I had to take off seven or eight bolts just to find that out. Now, I need to hunt down a marine-certified rebuilt starter motor, and then I get to see if my engine seized after all that water. I'm thinking it'll be okay -- I don't think the water was high enough to damage the engine -- but I can't find out until I put in the new starter. *sigh*.
Oh. I've also decided to grow back the goatee. ;)
