The Holidays.

My folks were in this weekend, so a lot of Christmas shopping and stuff ensued. Yesterday, they had some friends over that live nearby, and I cooked some Chicken Marengo (one of my favorites), then went fishing for a few hours.

They just left this morning for a couple days, then my entire family descends on my place Christmas Eve for a couple days. I get along with my family -- we all get along with each other pretty well -- but it will be a little overwhelming when they're all here.

In the meantime, I have a couple days.

Ah, that lovely mad rush of traffic after work of last minute Christmas shoppers. I was part of it, of course, but at least I got the shopping done. Got my hair cut while I was out -- it had been something like two months since the last cut and I could have done a good Shaggy improv, sans great dane.

So, when do the days start getting longer? This dark at 6pm thing is no fun. I may go out on my dock, though, and fish for a bit. I can dig this high-60s thing, after days of 40s.
