An irony: In boat shopping, I must have driven 250 miles today.

Up and down the east coast of Florida, from Daytona Beach to Ft. Pierce. I went through marinas, poking my head through engine comparments and stepping in bilge, walking around, on, over, and under decks. I've smelled too many heads that were standing in the Florida sun for too long.

And, I think I've fallen in love:

Now comes the wonderful experience of dealing with finance companies, and banks, and marine surveyors, and brokers....

I got back from boat shopping in time to pack and run to the airport. It was nice when I got back, a balmy 78 (26) degrees. There's this point on the freeway south of town but north of the airport that curves around and over a small hill, suddenly and out of nowhere displaying the nighttime skyline of Atlanta in a panorama.

I checked my plants, alone for four days on my deck. The tomatoes are about ready to flower. The peppers are flowering already, but they are absolutely infested with aphids. The Sevin is coming out tomorrow. (Oddly, the tomatoes are aphid-free at the moment.) My hands have that wonderful, rubbed-off scent of tomato leaves.
