Jul. 20th, 2001 06:25 pmEver like a song or a group, even though that song or group is almost...antithetical to your way of thinking?
There are subtleties in my question. I mean, there are tame versions of this. I have some very conservative republican buddies who love John Lennon's Imagine for instance, despite the ultra-liberal anarchy. I have Christian friends who like XTC's Dear God despite the blasphemy. I can like Jane's Addiction Jane Says and find sympathy and beauty in a heroine addicted prostitute. I'm not quite talking about these types of appreciation.
Can you listen to a very raw, very angry song and like it, love it even, though the lyrics out of the context of the song are perhaps a bit over the top?
I lovelovelove Linkin' Park's One Step Closer.
(Crawling ain't bad, either.)
