Ahhhhh, DSL! I'm surfing at 1.472 Mbps!
See, I used to live way out beyond the suburbs of Atlanta. No DSL and no cable modems, so I crawled along at 56k, which was really 48-50k on a good day. Now, I'm actually in the Atlanta city limits, and right across the street from the BellSouth POP. Got my install package today, and I'm flying :)
Geek Moment of Irony -- A thunderstorm fried my modem last week in my main computer. My laptop's modem is a built in. To install my DSL, I actually needed a regular modem to set everything up, so I had to run out and buy a $25 56k modem that I used once, and is now sitting there useless. *sigh*
