Ahhhhhhh, deadline complete. Four projects due today *sigh*. Normally I stagger them, but external forces (a.k.a. my dumb clients) formed an unholy confluence. So, my engineers do a fantastic job, get everything done, then go home and start their weekend. I, meanwhile, have to pull all their work together and send it off to the appropriate clients.

All that is done, finally. 10 1/2 hours today, and I can relax for a while. I have more stuff due next week, but this hellweek is over! Maybe I'll have enough time to start posting things other than survey results! (not that there's anything wrong with surveys, IMHO, but my journal, in retrospect, has been survey and quiz happy for the last week or so)

I made a quick stop at the mall on the way home and picked up some more dishes in my one/two dishes at a time strategy. I have a full place setting for four now. I'd like one for eight, so I'm halfway there. While in Crate & Barrel, waiting for them to dig my plates out of the back room, I noticed one of those computer Bridal Registry kiosks. Because I'm a computer engineer and can't resist technology (and also just for the hell of it) I tapped out a random name and printed their registry. Samantha and Jason are going to be married in Ft. Lauderdale a week from tomorrow. I'm feeling good about my project, I'm debating getting them a little something with a nice card. Looks like they want a margarita salter. Just the thing for beginning a new life ;)

I have a list of the top-100 restaurants in Atlanta. I'm going to open it at random and pick one, and see if they can make me a vodka martini big enough to swim in, and a meal good enough to knock me nearly senseless.

Not too senseless, though, as I have a phone conversation to look forward to tonight :)

Crate & Barrel? Awesome store. I browsed through one when I was in Scottsdale last January. Wonderful taste :)

Here.

I love their store. Nice, yet understated.

[Wonders if she should tell him that Kmart has that identical pattern from the Martha Stewart line, for like...WAY less.]

[Naw.]

[Ok, its not EXACTLY like that, but very similar. Its navy and cream. Navy looks a lot like black from a distance...]

Are you really going to get them something ?? If so ... I think that has got to be one of the funnest ideas I've heard. Can you imagine being the bride and groom and trying to figure out who it was from - HaHa!

I'm seriously thinking about it:) I know, the confusion on their part is part of the fun! I'm thinking of putting something cheerful, yet vague. "Always knew you two would end up together! Love, Peter Marcus"

and how to GET karma to go your way? btw, I took that colorgenics test you had in your journal, and I hated the result it gave me. both times.

The colorgenics thing was accurate for me....yet it was blown out of proportion. It kept saying all these things were bothering me deeply, when I think they were perhaps minor annoyances. *shrug* I dunno how much there was to it, especially since this "psychic" seems to have stolen a lot from a semi-reputable psych, but the music was cool ;)

That's it - exaggeration... as if the answers were desgined to 'provoke.' Probably to get you to call his psychic hotline.

That is a very cool random act!

Happy dining and happy phoning.

Are you still planning on going to LA in March? It would be fun to find a good Vodka Martini.

I'm there, man. Still toying with the idea of an LJBash golf tourney. I'm thinking we could grab a couple foursomes and hit some links somewhere.

Loser has to do something suitably embarrasing that night.

There's gonna be golfing? Please keep me in that loop.

Although, I'm pretty sure I am going to be the one who has to do something embarrassing.

Ooooooooohh, nice link! And coincidentally, the place I ate at last night was #8 on their list :) (it was a good martini!)

Getting them something is so twisted. Nice, yet with a hint of sadism as they wrack their brains trying to figure where they know you from. That's great. Really inspired-;)

Yep, I can just see it: "Who the hell do we know in Atlanta?"
