Here's an odd one from left field.

Long ago, I remember reading an article in a GF's Cosmo about watching men shave. Apparently, some women find it facinating watching a man shave, and others don't care at all.

I'm not sure how this translates in reverse. I've had GFs whose leg-shaving consists of a blur of flashing blades against a barely controlled, hopping, one-legged fall. Another's bubble filled bathtub leg-shaving was a graceful, sensual experience to watch.

Ladies, do you enjoy watching your guy shave and why? Guys, have you had SOs watch you shave?

i used to watch my last serious boyfriend shave. it pissed me off because he was so vein about it..yet i'd watch anyhow, my angst slowly growing until it'd build up and i'd have to leave the room or hit him with something.

he always pulled the 'mirror' face. i tried to tell him that he doesn't usually look like that, so the idea he had of his own image was totally wrong, yet he still continued to pull it.

shitted me insanely.

LOL -- would he wink and grin at himself while shaving or something?

funny you mention this, just last week I was shaving and Lisa wanted to watch me. This was the first time in our 4 yrs together that she was curious. Of course she was present for the immediate stroking of the fresh smooth skin..now if I can only get her to let me watch her shave her legs

Yeah, stroking the smooth skin afterwards seems to be part of the appeal, in my experience.

Because I haven't had much of an opportunity to revel in a guy and his maleness, yah, I'll watch a guy do ANYTHING. :) But prefer things which make him...male. Like flexing. Shaving. Sweating is nice. Cutting the lawn...I dunno. Male stuff. Run his fingers through his hair is good too. Smile...ok, getting distracted here.

And hell, a guy doesn't have to watch me, he can shave me anytime he wants :)

that is such a big deal for me...its a smell thing, I'm a smell person...right out of the shower, ivoried, then shaving goo...it all just smells so intense in a steamy bathroom. and it is kind of a personal act, intimate...and a little vulnerable....at least thats how I see it.

I like it even better when I get to hold the razor

done now...

I've heard the vulnerability is a big factor. The smell thing is a new one for me -- I've heard that women in general have a much better sense of smell than men.

Mmm. Of course. I like watching Mike shave because he's so big and powerful compared to me. And to see his large paws with a blade, gracefully and meticulously running over his sensitive face just seems so delightfully vulnerable and sexy.

Well, those little nicks hurt, so it's kind of an "enforced grace." ;)

Yes, I've watched D shave now atleast once...and i used to love watching matt shave as well. I think it partly stemms from watching my dad as a wee kidlet, but who knows?

I love watching guys shaving =)

And i don't do the shower-leg-shave thing.
I only shave once a month at best (i have like NO leghair) and when i do, i pamper myself, draw bubbly bath, shave, soak, listen to music, then apply lotion and such...

Infact, when i lived up north (chicago) i used to shave my legs when they got dry and itchy. not because my hair was bugging me. once a month in winter, and every 2-3 mos in warmer weather (ie, 3 mos of the year!!)

in texas tho, my skin doesn't dry out nearly as much, so i shave when i'm good and ready to, dammit.

I shave the nether regions more than my legs. lol

Ah, the father figure approach :) Could be...early images can be powerful.

NO!

Actually, I have this profound phobia about people cutting themselves (very similar to a papercut phobia I have) so I can't stand to watch someone shave. Those commercials where the woman is shaving her leg and cuts herself just about send me over the edge.
I could NEVER let someone shave me, and I'm not very fond of having someone watch me shave, much to the chagrin of my BF.

It's close too, shaving nicks and papercuts (I don't mean to reinforce your phobia ;)

Hey: I ate at the Perimeter Canyon Cafe the other day -- good place!

I LOVE the Canyon Cafe! It has wonderful food and a pretty good atmosphere. My favorite is the desert fire pasta.

I've lived with my boyfriend for over a year now and never really watched him shave. Don't think I've every watched a man shave - like stood there and watched the whole time. I don't think Jesse likes to be stared at while he's doing his grooming, getting dressed, etc. That's the feeling I get anyway, so I give him his privacy. =)

Looks like I'm the only one who doesn't really care one way or the other. Hmm.

Well, it can be a bit disconcerting if someone is staring the whole time...but it can kinda be anticipatory or erotic if she's digging it. Like everything else, to each his(her) own :)

I think morning rituals of the opposite sex are inherently interesting. We don't shave our faces (most of us anyway)... so it's interesting to see you guys do it. Probably the same reason why guys are interested in women putting on makeup and getting dressed.

The ritual thing is a good point. I remember my first long-term GF; I was strangely facinated by her putting on her bra in the morning -- a several step process that men instinctively figure out in reverse :)

Several step process?! What are you talking about? A bra or a harness?! LOL

Well, for a guy, if he's talented, it's one flip of the wrist and there you go. To put one on, it was kinda this wrap-around, buckle it up, spin it around, one arm through, other arm through, adjust and jiggle kinda of a thing :)

I've... always shaved in private. It has never come up.

I guess I'd shave in front of someone, if I had a chance of getting some nookie out of it.

I like to watch men shave. I like to watch men do dishes. For me, watching of any kind can be a turn on. Particularly when they don't realize they're being watched, and therefore don't 'act accordingly' ;) The most seemingly insignificant movements or expressions of a man can send me over.

But on the subject of shaving - along with watching, I have a thing about participation. I find trust and vulnerability unbearably sexy. So to bring it out to the couch in our tshirts and underwear, a bowl of water, shaving cream and the razor - to straddle his lap and smear the cream on his face.. the way he looks at me as I drag the razor down a cheek. The crooked smile I get when he can tell I'm being too careful.

Eh hem.. now if you'll excuse me ;)

Your crooked smile would be all it would take to make me feel vulnerable ;^P

Good answer, T :)
