I have been using Netscape 6.0 for three days now. I have used it enough, in enough situations that I can honestly say, after considering the evidence, that I hate it greatly.

In other news, I am re-installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 compiler. It is lying to me and saying that Microsoft Internet Exploder, a freaking web browser fergodsakes, is an essential piece of a C++ compiler (something they left out of my college engineering courses, I guess) and must be installed to continue with the installation. It refuses to let me go on without installing it. I'm blaming [livejournal.com profile] plural.

as I am rightly to blame

you see
if you were
to look in the
installer app's code
you would see

{if user=petermarcus}
{then forceinstallcomponent=internetexploder}
{:justification=personalharrasmentID#5143892}

Ah, I have my own ID! I must be someone!

Or someone out of at least 5,143,892 people.

I have to blame you, my friend, as you are the only person I know these days who willingly admits to working for MS.

actually....

that id is
merely the 5143892 time I
have added superfluous code
to msft products
for the purpose of
personal harrassment
[as opposed to the ones]
[which are just for personal amusement]

as part of my initial
salary negotiations
I got an original block of
5.5million superflous objects
for personal harrasment purposes
in leu of stock options
and
I get grants for 25,000 objects
every 3 months, but
they are on a 12 months
vesting schedule
:-(

so I am almost
out of harrasment code
allocations
have to try and
sneak them in under

"random frustrations"
or
"personal amusement"
which is a higher
bar for both quality of
code and purpose

for example
a personal amusement
object must be seconded
by another dev and
then recieve atleast
1/3 of the votes
of the war team

[web devs and testers]
[are subject to the old]
[3/5ths compromise]
[for the purpose of]
[space, bonuses and voting]

After saying happy birthday to you, I peeked into the rest of your LJ and spotted this post. I think I lasted about 3 days with Netscape 6.0 before I zapped it, ew. Since I tend to do these things in a kind of vacuum, it's helpful to know that it wasn't just me.
