My wife's mom died about three years ago, and her father is getting re-married this weekend. So, we're off to Chicago/Indiana this afternoon. Should be kinda fun -- a good break from the work that's been throttling me for the last couple of weeks.

I may be in and out, depending on access, but if not, I'll see y'all Sunday night.

Yeah, the Atlanta thing grabbed me, too. I've been bumping into you on a bunch of other friends pages, but I didn't realize until recently you lived in town (though I'm in the outskirts north of Kennesaw).

My in-laws are from South Bend/Mishawaka, but I've been through Michigan City many times.

Not much. I know Sherman grabbed the hill before he buzzed into town, but nothing much about the details. Funny, huh? You can almost see the mountain from my place, but I could tell you more about Hannibal's victory over the Romans at Cannae than I can about the Battle of Kennesaw.

Today, I was just at the Barnes & Noble getting some books, and right on the corner of the shopping mall was a historical marker about one of Sherman's Brig. Generals using the house as his HQ once they captured the mountain. They probably planned to nuke the whole city from that very living room.
