Okay, so Chris is my favorite. He has a good voice, and he happens to lean toward my genre. Taylor I love as an underdog -- I was expecting him to tank big-time this week because how does a Joe Cocker/Michael MacDonald voice try to tackle Freddy's? But I think he did a good thing and went for pure entertainment (and the last couple lyrics were bang-on). Taylor's main problem is these themed weeks don't let him do his thing and nail the Doobie Brothers or Percy Sledge or Otis Redding. Taylor could be Michael Bolton with an actual understanding of the music.

I gotta say, though...Paris blew me away. She's 16 and doesn't understand the very lyrics she's singing, but look what that did for Fiona Apple.

Bets for tomorrow -- Bucky or Ace will tank. Bucky has no right being in the top 8 as it is. Ace has a decent voice from time to time, but I'm beyond the airhead chic. The complete lack of brain cells used to make me cringe...but now I'm just sighing and waiting for the next contestant.

This is my first season watching Idol, and I keep forgetting when it's on, so I missed Chris tonight. He's my favorite too, with Katherine in second. I can't believe Taylor is still there, Paris blows me away all the time, and is Ace the breathy, dreamy/vacant looking guy with the longish dark hair? He's gotta go.

This is my first season, too. Never thought I'd watch, then got seriously sucked in this season. I like Katherine a lot, too.

Yeah, Ace is the one with the 1000-yard soul-searching stare. *gag*

I really don't like the contestants this year.. Taylor is amusing and Chris is good but something bugs me about him.. i think he tried to pass off a song as his when in fact it was a cover by another band?? I don't know... it will be intersting to see what happens.

Paris blew it I think.. this was Freddy's last song before he died and we thought there should have been more respect show to it.. it just seemed "odd" as Simon said. :P ;)

Yeah, Chris did a Live cover of Johnny Cash, and the show made it seem like he said it was his arrangement. Some reporter said he thought Chris mentioned it but it got cut off the highlight tape during the show and the next week, Seacrest made sure to say it was Live, not Chris. Heh -- scandal!

The oddest thing about Paris is she keeps picking these adult songs, so she's either a lot less innocent than she lets on, or she only understands every other phrase she sings.

Okay, so I haven't really seen ANY shows of late.
One of these days, I'll watch what's known as "reality TV".

This is the first year I watched, after vowing I would never watch. It's much better than I expected. It's almost a real test of talent, as opposed to just a way to make fun of someone on national television for 15 minutes of fame.

Idol

I have been watching Idol every week. Kind of got hooked watching it though if Lisa Loeb's show on E (#1 Single ) was on, I'd rather watch that! My favorite Idol was Mandisa but she was voted off. She is super talented with a great voice....then it is Paris but I would have to say that "Chris" should win Idol....he is unique and we need a rock artist to win not another country music crooner. Chris will also be more marketable than say, Paris (even though she truly has a wonderful voice and is a natural on stage)--she will just be featured on BET just like Fantasia. I do not see much of her unless I am fliping channels and I happen to catch one of her videos being played on BET. Same thing with Rueben.....

Kelly Clarkson seems to be the ONLY Idol winner so far that has really made it big. If Chris wins, I would say that we will see and hear a lot of him....from VH-1 to MTV to rock and top 40 stations. I hope he wins.....

As for my least favorite Miss Kelly Pickler....it boggles my mind that she has made it this far! She is the least talented of the bunch and soon--she has to go!!!!! I think it is her "cuteness and her dumbness" that the southern boys vote for....surely it is not her singing talent..... People cannot tell me that she is a better singer than Mandisa!!!
