(no subject)

When the three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) have to make a choice between President Bush speaking about Iraq, and the end of May ratings sweeps...and the networks pick the sweeps...it only proves one thing:

America deserves Bush.

I couldn't agree more.

And what's worse is what was ON TV during that time:

NBC: Fear Factor
FOX: The Swan pageant (!)
ABC: the movie A Beautiful Mind
CBS: does anyone really watch this network anyway? LOL

Yeah, that Fear Factor killed me. I can see the dilemma if it's a questionable show, or if it's the season conclusion for a popular series...but Fear Factor? So the only reason to keep Fear Factor on instead of the President was to be able to raise their advertising rates next year.

my NBC affiliate carried the bush speech, but FOX carried a syndicated simpsons. i didn't check other channels.

Really? Interesting...I wonder if it was a Mountain Timezone thing -- you might have been out of prime-time. I heard about the networks from here:

yeah, i guess it wasn't officially "prime time," yet. it was only 6 pm here.

i like being in mountain time zone, in general, when it comes to TV programming. most of our shows are on an hour earlier than the comparable time slot in eastern/pacific, which makes it easier to go to bed earlier if there are shows that i really want to see. =)

That's why I listen to NPR. :)

[identity profile] petermarcus.livejournal.com 2004-05-25 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, even the pinko-commie radio station carried it!

true, though listening to that man speak tends to make me want to bang my head against the wall.

His speeches tend to be pretty painful to watch, I agree. Maybe they did it in response to those new television decency standards.

I find it funny that you guys often post similarly themed entries at the same time in my journal.
