(no subject)

I have a major, major bug in my code and I haven't tracked it down yet. Annoying.

Kick the stress up a notch...I have two days to fix it...

that's when I usually ask somebody else to look at it, cause fresh eyes tend to catch it faster, unless it's like a million line and there is nothing but if's and goto's :))))

[identity profile] petermarcus.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Normally, I'd agree, but this project is just me. I'm starting to think it isn't me, that it's a bug in the drivers.

[identity profile] pinko-asshead.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you code in?

I agree. Let some "fresh" eyes look at it.

[identity profile] petermarcus.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
C/C++. Mostly C. I'm olde-skool like that.

Unfortunately, it's just me on this particular project. I'm thinking it might be a bug in the drivers, though. That would be good, because it wouldn't be my fault. But it would be bad, because I don't know when I'd get a fix...

Annoying Cliche, but....

[identity profile] ubet-cha.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 12:41 pm (UTC)(link)
...did you try google for the drivers? Sometimes you can find all kinds of obsolete driver/code stuff out there to use. You never know.

Also, ( since I have no idea what drivers you're talking about)...Did you check out www.drivers.com ? Its mainly PC Stuff, but I've picked up BSD drivers there before.

Good Luck.

If only coding were that simple.... ;-P

well, if you happen to spot the little bugger,

See if he understands this:

Morse! Talented. I'll tap it out with my foot on his head.

Yes, it's one of the many talents. How many gals do you know who can woo men with her...morse code? (*cringe)

Might work to pick up someone in the Navy. Tap it out on the bar:

-... ..- -.-- / -- . / .- / -.. .-. .. -. -.- / ... .- .. .-.. --- .-. ..--..

(I had to find an online morse translator. Heh. The Internet is wonderful.)

[livejournal.com profile] alexis_wren has a link from her journal to you...so I stumbled by!

I'm a PeopleSoft programmer and most of my projects are the same way. I'm the only one on the project so I can't get anyone to help.

My solution (although EXTREMELY frustrating) always comes to me when I give up, go home and relax. Then I wake up dreaming about code or it comes to me in the shower. Wish I could give better advice.

Can you talk it out with a co-worker? Even if they aren't looking at the code, sometimes just saying it gives you that *aha!* moment.

(hope you didn't mind me browsing)

[identity profile] alexis-wren.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
trust me. with an icon like that one, he won't mind you browsing, Mensa. ;)

You are too funny, Alexis! Here, I'll use another sexy one....;)

I Use Humor to Mask the Pain...

*Holds hand to brow, dramatically*

Bwaahahahah...:)

Okay, that's a goddamned lie!
Truth is, I can't stop laughing...

Hehehehehehehh!

Anyway, I must scold you, Mensa (Not THAT kind of scolding. Peter, you hooch). Here, the poor man is trying to figure out something intel-ek-chew-awl, and you're distracting him with bosom and bondage photos. I swear, you're even worse than Nickolodean ([livejournal.com profile] nilo)! ;)

BTW, We're sorry for highjacking your journal, Mr. Marcus.
But I gave Ms. Lark a talking-to, and she promises to never do it again. :)
