Odd Stuff
All this talk about Google lately, so I did an ego search on my alias, and www.livejournal.com/users/petermarcus showed up. Nothing hit on content...for instance, when I searched on: +petermarcus +iraq I didn't get anything except a few friendspage hits (which is unblockable, of course). It didn't bring up any of my personal entries directly, which is good. But, it bugs me that my main link came up. I've had the spider blocking on for a couple years now and it's worked for a long time.
For the couple people that have asked, I found that there is a way to remove your site from Google immediately (well, relatively) -- that is, you don't have to wait for another spider visit. You need the robots.txt option, though. Here are the details: http://www.google.com/remove.html#exclude_website

Still, I'd rather no one I know IRL (outside of LJ people) reads this. Too restricting.
