(no subject)

Atlanta was never able to handle cold well. A couple buildings over in my complex, water pipes burst at 10AM and completely destroyed six apartments while their owners were at work. Pumps are chugging away, and the parking lots are now skating rinks.

Good thing I'm in the middle of the building -- I catch a lot of parasitic heat from the other apartments so my pipes are well inside. I'm only worried about the folks above me. Hope they know enough to keep their water dribbling tonight. I'd rather not wake up in a rainforest.

*pictures you..

All bundled up and running only to SLIDE on the iced over parking lots*

I'd pay money to see that! ;)

Ahh yes, pipes bursting makes for such lovely cleanup. My last apartment's sewer pipes burst (while I was out of town- of course) and flooded my apartment with the contents. But, it wasn't due to cold, just overgrown tree roots. I hope that your apt. stays warm and safe! :)

Lordy it is silly cold! I do not have a heater. I have Oskar. The occasional Jonathan. There is no parasitic heat. The parking lot once clogged with scurvy overnight guests in other units is now empty as we flee our hot pink 1920s castle of chill.

But for O and me. Who've made something of fuzzy slippers, electric blanket ( the last twin one in town it seems ) and magazines. The old truck doesn't want to crank -- but it does. It does.

We have no reason, you know, to carry on about the summer's heat wave. None. None. None.

But...we will. Yes? I'm Goldilocks one bowl of porridge down.
