Nov. 2nd, 2009 04:35 pmI have to work on posting more often.
There's a food blogger convention in San Francisco this weekend. Bertolli had a cooking contest where they would pay for airfare/hotel for 10 food bloggers who come up with a recipe using Bertolli sauces. Christey suggested I do a stuffed shells recipe, so I did (with Bertolli's Vodka Sauce), and we won, so we're going to San Francisco this weekend. They only paid for one airfare, but I have a bunch of frequent flier miles, so I paid for Christey's ticket with my miles and I still get my own miles for flying out and back. They also popped for a driver to take us to and from the SF airport, and the Orlando airport, which saves a ton on gas and parking and cabs. Then again, the limo tips may end up breaking even on that.
Other than that, my folks came out this weekend and I cooked, which is always fun. We've had spots of cool weather lately, so I decided to make some braised short ribs on Halloween. Ended up being the warmest Halloween in history in this town, so much for winter comfort food. It was still good.
