Feb. 6th, 2009 10:01 pmSo, the town of Palm Coast, Florida, is about 90 minutes North of us. A local pizzeria owner just got arrested for pistol whipping two customers who complained about a calzone that wasn't what they ordered. So, the mug shots go on the news, and a few people outside of the tiny town of Palm Coast think he looks familiar.
Suddenly, the story of Joey Calco gets replayed -- a mob wannabe and hit-man whose turn-coat testimony convicted a chunk of the New York Bonanno crime family and disappeared into the witness protection program. Seems like the pizzeria owner looks quite a bit like Joey Calco. And, oddly, the pizzeria ("Goombas") was owned by Joey Calco's mother, but was given to the new owner "Joseph Milano", who happens to share the same birthday and year as Joey Calco.
The owner hasn't shown up to the pizzeria since his arrest, which may be a good thing, as the Daytona News Journal states: ...Three men in a Lincoln Town Car bearing New Jersey license plates showed up at Goomba's the day after the first calzone attack story appeared in the national news.
They asked for "Joey Calco."
Right out of the Sopranos...
Pizzeria owner, mob informant possibly same person
