Aug. 31st, 2005 06:38 pmSo, Christey and I were in New Orleans last week. Among the last tourists to see it the way it was for quite some time. I remember living outside of Ft Lauderdale when Andrew hit in '92. Miami didn't recover for years, and most of it was south of us.
Christey posted some pictures of our trip:

Most of the outdoors areas in those pictures are currently under water, some by 10-20 feet. The street performers are gone, the music is silent.
However, Katrina is not the first storm to hit this three hundred year old town. It will bounce back. Eventually.
