Nov. 23rd, 2004 01:28 pmConversation the other day:
me: I feel like crap
my brother: You sick?
me: Nah, I'm quitting smoking again. Withdrawal.
my brother: You've been three days on and two days off for months. You've been in permanent nicotine withdrawal for a year. I'd think you'd be used to it. It's, like, your body's normal state now.
It's been over two weeks this time since my last smoke, and I'm feeling pretty good lately. Still bugs me a bit after meals and martinis, or on long drives, but I think I had that little mental "click" I get when I'm really going to do something.
If anything, I'm sick of the withdrawal and I know if I start smoking, I'll have to go through this crap all over again.
