So, a decade ago, a bunch of Brazilian ship enthusiasts built a full-scale replica of the Nina, Columbus' smallest ship. It's been described as the most historically accurate reproduction of the 15th century ship, built completely by hand, no power tools.
The Nina will be in Clearwater Harbor (a city north of me by 30 minutes or so) Thursday, and will stay until the 25th. It's on its last US tour before being permanently based in Mexico.
And I'm going to be out of town from Friday until the 26th...damn. I really want to see this ship. It doesn't say when on Thursday the ship will arrive...maybe I have to take off work early and head up there Thursday evening.
