Oct. 11th, 2002 11:20 pmDrove home tonight in fog, watching an orange half-moon sink into the misty trees.
Parked the car, checked the mail, and as I walked to my apartment, I glanced down at a small brown snake right at my feet. Maybe 12 inches long, tops. I jumped back a foot, and so did he. I bent down to watch him, and he coiled up and watched me. I walked away, and he slithered on.
