Mar. 31st, 2002 11:22 amMan, haven't slowed down.
Friday was work, then work on the side job, then a quick jaunt to the Mariott for an LJ Atlanta dinner. Now, I've been to many a convention, especially tech conventions, and there is always an aura. One walk into the Mariott lobby, however, and any novice observer would immediately think, "So, a con is going on, isn't it?" Ah, cons; where else could one eat French Onion soup as an appetizer, while watching a silver robot walk by, hand-in-hand with a (barely) leather-clad dominatrix.
It was fun seeing the Atlanta crew, met
circlek and
misspriss, though we had been friends-of-friends for a while. Re-met
dawnmarie,
weswilson,
bardiva and
thorny from the LA Bash. Met a few new folks -- I need to find some time to update my friends list. Midway through dinner, work called again, so I took off and worked until the wee hours. Call it 1AM.
So last time I flew to Florida, I slept through my alarm. This time, I set it..ahem..louder. Then, I woke, bolt-upright....two minutes before it went off. Damn internal clock is never trustworthy. I made my flight with ease, got here in mid-morning and immediately hit the beach. Did some fishing; caught a few worthless catfish and a nice redfish that was, alas, too small (redfish are absolutely delicious).
Had a date last night with a Florida girl I have been flirting with for my last couple visits. It was nice and sweet and a lot of fun doing nothing much but talking in an Irish pub. She is a serious cutie.
Happy Easter, late-Passover, and what other holidays may be celebrated in this beautiful spring of late. Now, perhaps....yes, I think so. Some more fishing.
