Papers were signed and filed today. 31 days from now, I go see a judge, sign another stack of papers, and then I am out of this single-yet-separated-yet-married limbo. I was going to call the ex, let her know, but she called me. Seems her cat has kidney disease and it may be terminal. Poor thing -- he and I spent many years fighting it out for the position of alpha male of the house. He never did give up, and I had a sneaking suspicion that though he missed me when I left, he was also half glad that he regained control. I'll miss the little bastard if he can't fight this thing, but he's nearly 10 years old and the prognosis isn't good. I never did get around to telling her about the papers. Probably a good thing.
Denver just popped up on my biz schedule. Looks like the second week in Sept. That'll be interesting -- I've never been to Denver.
Florida this weekend. I'm flying out tomorrow, flying back Tuesday morning. Some relaxation is just what I need. I can't relax here lately, there's too much work to do, so I keep doing it. I can't work in Florida, all the software is up here, so maybe I can oxymoronicize myself by "forcing myself to relax" :)
