ectv asked in her journal about the start of the current US economic woes. I'd been doodling about writing a post about this, so I figured I'd finally do it (though if anyone else actually reads this, I'll be amazed :)

Here's the theory of the current recession-ish economy thing we're going through, from an amateur economist and professional techie (your humble, rambling PeterMarcus). I'm focusing on the US Domestic economy - there are international reasons that helped, from the Asia recession to the disappointing performance of the Euro, but I'm ignoring all of that.
