Political Wagering
Feb. 1st, 2001 01:35 pmLooks like Ashcroft will be confirmed today, the last member of Bush's cabinet still outstanding. I felt okay with Cheney's conversion from hardline to moderate...he had time away from politics and I at least figure I can give him the benefit of the doubt. Ashcroft, I'm not sure about -- less time away from politics, and he isn't making enough moderation noises.
Here are the wagers:
Wager 1: Ashcroft won't last 4 years -- he'll resign or be fired before Bush's first term is over...anyone want to bet he'll go the distance? Winner gets a fifth of spirits of his/her choice (within reason....say, $30 and under).
Wager 2: If Ashcroft does resign/get axed, he'll be the first in Bush's cabinet to go...anyone think someone will go before Ashcroft? Winner gets a six-pack of beer/wine cooler/Zima-like malt beverage/etc...
If you take one or both of my wagers, and you're a semi-regular reader of my LJ, reply to this post with the spirit/six-pack of your choice. There is the possibility, of course, that this bet will go on for four years.
