Last post of 2002, and you can play along at home!

Which is the stupidest news story to appear as news on the last day of 2002?

A: Man who changes name to Jack Ass sues MTV over Jackass show
B: Justin says he misses Britney
C: Man arrested for West Nile risk in swimming pool -- says bullfrogs control bugs

I'm voting for A. I bet he's been waiting for a movie with that name ever since he changed his. "defamed him", yeah right!

In the end (so to speak) no publicity is bad publicity.

Or so they say. Then again, his name is Jack Ass, for Pete's sake.

stupid story

I vote for A. Using a name like that which is in common use sets him up to sue almost anyone.

B doesn't seem too stupid, anyone can have really strangely mixed feelings for an ex. Even famous people. Emotions are sometimes strange.

C I take too seriously to call it stupid. I have two ponds outside, a large one that is well filtered and has a waterfall, hence-no mosquitos. I have a small pond with lots of plants that I do not filter, I just let it balance itself out naturally. In the small pond I keep pink convict cichlids which simply live to eat mosquito larva. When they are out there no mosquito larvae have even a slight chance. In the spring and fall I use a comercial "briquette" containing mosquito larvae killing bacteria that is very effective. In my area people are terrified of the West Nile Virus so they call the police on people with ponds. When the building inspector came to my place he at least had the sense to see that there were no mosquito larvae and pass me with flying colors. By the way my bullfrogs by themselves are not enough to keep the mosquitoes gone and goldfish don't seem to work either.
