Call me Ebert.

Harry Potter II -- Go see it. Absolutely cool. Totally "Wow." Fun, thoughtful. Long at 2:45 (but didn't seem like it.) Good effects, but beautiful atmosphere. The kids learned to act a bit better. Snape was a bit underused, Malfoy pere was wonderfully slimy, and the news about the newly late Dumbledore made his performance bittersweet.

I have to go read all the books again.

Just now saw Mission Impossible II on DVD. I was so-so on M:I #1. I thought it was a bit too cliche with the "secret agent gets framed for being a bad guy" thing. M:I #2, however, was just as cliche...and it worked. John Woo's direction was pure art. I figured it'd be a good couple hour mindless action distraction, but I loved it.

Jason and I can't wait to see Harry Potter. It's only going to be released here on the 29 November, so we have 2 more weeks to wait. I'm thrilled that you say it lives up to expectations. I hate it when sequel movies are disappointing.

My daughter and I want to go see it but are avoiding crowds. Maybe we will just go for it. She will be unhappy if she doesn't see more of Snape, as she has a crush on him. I never did get into the M.I. movies. I did go see I Spy (initially just to please a friend) and discovered that I really enjoyed it. Good action and comedy blended together. And one of Eddie Murphy's better performances.
