Also, I'm not alone in saying, or believing, that the very best part about today, is that it'll be the last day to see the signs and billboards, hear the radio ads, see the TV ads, and listen to the voicemail (and how do the 20 political voice messages I got actually know that I'm a Floridian when my cellphone still has an Atlanta area code? Creepy big brother stuff...)

It'll be beautiful in the next couple weeks as the red and blue signs start to come down and we can actually see the grass, sky, and water again.

Wow, I haven't gotten a single robo-call, but then Washington state is pretty... hardcore one way and people likely think it wouldn't do any good.

Did you hear they were advising grandkids to tell their FL retired grandparents they would come visit them IF AND ONLY IF they voted for Obama? "Grandparents want visits, so follow through if they do but don't go if they don't."

Yeah, I saw the videos. The elderly vote here is pretty entrenched. There are some security-minded vets who would vote Republican even if they had to dig up Eisenhower's corpse and prop it in the oval office. There are Democrat retirees who think every Republican is going to take away their social security and they'll starve in the streets.

I think the bigotry angle is a factor, but not as much as people worried it might be.
