(no subject)

Political conspiracy theory I just came up with.

The Plame source is actually a Democrat, but Karl Rove leaked his own name to get liberals drooling. When the truth comes out, Rove will have made a bunch of liberal columnists and lawmakers look very, very foolish, right before a Supreme Court battle.

Okay, probably not likely, but it would make a good political thriller.

From what I read the other day, the Time notes do not say that Rove is the source, just that the reporter talked to him that day. Seems to me that there could be a lot of assumptions being made....disclaimer...news since the initial release that Time was releasing the notes and the day following could invalidate this comment.

I figured it was Rove all along, but I have a diferent theory...Renquist will step down, Bush will nominate someone he doesn't want, Like Judge Bork to fill her seat (O'conner) while simultaneously nominating Atonin Three fingers Scalia for Chief justice, they will let scalia in if he withdraws Bork (or someone near like him).

I don't think it's Rove, because Rove is Machavellian enough to "hint" that someone else should spill the beans. He's a huge behind the scenes kinda guy. But, it'd be interesting if he had nothing to do with it, but saw a way to take advantage of the situation.

The rumormill that I have heard from various columnists says that when Rehnquist finally retires (any minute now), Bush is going to bring in someone new for chief, instead of elevating someone who is there already. That's happened quite a few times historically, so I can see it, though it would be an interesting conservative move to elevate Thomas, who is not only black but young.

Personally, I think he's going to do Gonzales to replace O'Connor, because the conservatives hate him, and he's a good friend. Then, when Rehnquist does retire, he'll nominate another Thomas or Scalia. I'm sure there will be a lot of political give and take, but if Gonzales gets nominated first, he'll take a lot of heat away from Bush when it comes to nominating extremists.

And, you think he hasn't already? (I know you do...just being sarcastic)

... today's london bombings were actually by the US, trying to turn the news away from rove.

I heard that on Fark.com today, someone phrased it as: "Karl Rove Bombs London!"

Lots of tinfoil hat wearers out there in the next few days.
