Treasure Island, Florida. A series of islands, half man-made, half made by nature. Right between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. Here's the town:

My place is a two bed/two bath house with an office and a den-like area. No garage, which is going to make it a little sketchy for getting back into woodworking, but I think I can set some stuff in the den. The kitchen is big for the Tampa Bay area (a lot of older houses). The master bedroom has a sunroom looking over the back, and so does the living room.

The back is great: a nice patio area, a big tree, a swimming pool (more of a swimming puddle -- I could probably jump over it), and a small dock into a waterway that connects to the Intracoastal. It's small, but very, very cozy. All for around $100/month more than what I was paying for my apartment in Atlanta for a bit more room, and fishing in my back yard :)

Worked on work today. Signed a lease today. Worked on the car today, but not much and it gets dark too early. I bolted the rest of the transmission on, then proceeded to snap a bolt off the starter motor, so I have to fix that (*grrr*). Then, just the axles, battery, air filter, then we try it and see if it blows up. Tomorrow's a lighter day -- I think we might have it done before dark.

Yeah, wow! Not too far at all. I was stuck on the Treasure Island Causeway this afternoon while the drawbridge was up. A lot of nice boats making a mad dash for that pass :)
