Grammar...why?

Why isn't there any other word in English that sounds exactly like homophone?
Why isn't there any other word in English that is spelled homogram?
Why don't the letters in ACRONYM stand for anything?
Why is palindrome not one?
Why doesn't anything make a noise that goes: onomatopoeia
Why doesn't diphthong have any?
Why doesn't anyone shorten the word contraction?
Why don't we capitalize honorific?
Why doesn't the word metaphor remind me of anything?
Why doesn't the word vernacular show up more in everyday conversation?
If Smokey the Bear is anthropomorphization, does that make the Chik-Fil-A cows gynopomorphization?

are you saying cows are like women?

vernacular DOES show up often in my everyday conversation!

Well, cows as opposed to bulls. I always gathered Smokey was a boy-bear, but maybe I'm anthrompomorphizing...

why is the word "long" short?
why is the word "abbreviation" long and not short?

You have a point. Or two.

and, to be reminded of Gallagher

parkways we drive in
driveways we park in
buildings are ready are
cold means you have a fever
and
bow is the same thing as a bough which is not a bow which is used to shoot arrows;
laughter and daughter do not sound alike but beau and bow do and they are not the same bow or bow from above.

And people say German is hard to learn.
