Any changes?

Personally, I'd switch Niven's Mote in God's Eye with Ringworld. Ringworld is the perfect Hollywood Epic -- a quest, strange aliens, a 200 year old human, and lots of fun gadgets, including the ringworld itself.

Also, I'd switch out Stephenson's Snow Crash with Gibson's Neuromancer (though I love Stephenson). Neuromancer is much more cerebral, but there also more of the anti-hero with Case, and a tough martial-arts babe with occasional lapses of vulnerability never hurts. And rastas. Plenty of rastas.

Stranger would be interesting. In a sense, it's a book that was very anchored in the 60s/70s. On the other hand, Across the Universe did really well last year. Not to mention the Scientologists just epitomize the Fosterites these days, so there may be a modern angle there -- what if a real prophet came along who was taught by the real ghosts of real aliens?

I hear it's chilly in some places, and even cold in others. It was a nice fall day here yesterday, high 70s (mid-20s C), perfect for opening a couple coconuts from our tree and trying some curry.
