Mar. 4th, 2008 11:39 pmI was fishing this weekend, in a canoe, by myself, in the intracoastal waterway, and a bottlenose dolphin popped up about a yard/meter away and stared at me, and the first thing I thought was, "Oh great, he's scaring off all the fish." The ironic thing is, he was probably thinking the same thing about me.
The last couple evenings, the manatee have been frisky. Imagine a 1000 pound sea-mammal, jumping most of the way out of the water, and crashing back in. Also, imagine that there aren't enough manatee around for this orgy, so they slap their tails on the water to attract more, to add to the fun. At 3AM.
There are times when this state can be Paradise, but there are sooooo many odd side effects to it, that it can be surreal.
