Oh yeah. I know this is off the cuff and all. There's this whole historic election going on in Palestine right now. I'm kinda hoping Hamas gets to be a decent force in the Palestinian government, as they'll suddenly have to be accountable for their own rhetoric. Sort of like what happened with Sinn Féin and the IRA. Not that I think that region is going to magically turn into EEC-like handholding rapture any time soon.... However, the one thing that has historically tamed fanatical fringe groups is actual, real responsibility for real people with real lives and real hopes and dreams. Here's to hoping it's a step toward real peace.
