Restaurant development company E-Brands Restaurants LLC announced Friday it will convert Samba Room in Old Hyde Park Village to an Italian eatery.
The 4,830-square-foot Samba Room space is slated to become Timpano Italian Chophouse and include seating for 160 people and a patio.
The restaurant transition is scheduled to begin with the closing of Samba Room in late summer and the opening of Timpano in early fall.
"We feel that our continued investment in the Old Hyde Park Village will not only bring in more business but also add to the appeal of the entire Hyde Park area," said Charly Robinson, chief operations officer for E-Brands Restaurants, in a media release. "The Timpano concept has been one of the best received of all our restaurants."
Timpano will feature an open exhibition kitchen, full bar as well as lunch and dinner service. E-Brands operates 12 restaurants in six states.
