The last three MP3s I downloaded from iTunes. I have them on endless rotation right now:

I've eaten the sun so my tongue
Has been burned of the taste
I have been guilty
Of kicking myself in the teeth

Alice in Chains -- Down in a Hole. Not a new song, but it's been on rotation on the local alternative/rock station, and the mellow artistry of Layne's lyrics about depressive addiction is feeding my own addiction to this song.

When I have kids
I won't put any chains on their wrists, I won't
I'll tell them this:
There's nothing in this world that you can't be if you want it enough

Smile Empty Soul - Silhouettes. Maybe because my folks were the opposite of the parents featured in this song. For every one that blames their problems on the way they were raised, this is a good song about breaking that chain.

Dead I am the dog
Hound of hell you cry
Devil on your back
I can never die

Rob Zombie - Dragula. Not new, either, but it sure is a helluvalotta fun to listen to while driving across the state.

Iraq and sports:

Iraq is going to the Olympics in soccer/football for the first time in Iraqi history (clean article -- congrats to them!):

A Sports Illustrated article from a year ago, about the Iraqi sports program, headed (at the time) by Uday Hussein. The descriptions of the torture of losing athletes are not for the squeamish:
