So I'm working away here in my home office. The next room is the living room and the octogenarian trio are chatting. Since one is hard of hearing and my grandmother is much worse, the volume levels are up on all three of them. So I hear the following:

D: What are you doing M? (M=my grandmother)
M: Changing my clothes.
D: But Peter is in the next room! He could just walk right in!
M: Peter has seen plenty of women. I don't have anything he hasn't seen before.

Now I don't know what's more disturbing -- my grandmother changing in the next room, or her believing I have seen plenty of women...changing.

One of the good things about not watching too much TV is missing all the political ads. The Octogenarian Trio, on the other hand, always have it on in the background while they quilt, knit, and crochet. Imagine three ladies, born in the Depression, married to WWII soldiers/sailors, currently widowed, 100% Polish and very Catholic. Then a John Kerry ad comes on, who happens to be Catholic, yet divorced and pro-Choice.

I've been listening to a political discussion from a point of view I'm not used to. That being an 80-something, ex-vet, pro-Catholic, pro-isolationist, pro-social security but generally conservative point of view.

I'm enjoying their visit ;)
