Feb. 16th, 2004 09:12 amA whirlwind weekend of friends and family. I've only been home to sleep in the last two days, and haven't really slept enough anyway. It was a virtually (or non-virtually, rather) Internet-free weekend, which is rare for me. Though I did check mail once or twice, it was never for longer than a minute.
There are some friends in from out of town, staying with other friends. My brothers and sister and various spouses are in as well, and it was basically a 48-hour get-together. We tried to golf on Saturday, but it got rained out by a small monsoon, so we played yesterday instead when it devolved to merely a small windstorm. My score does not merit mention. The course, in a little town north of Tampa called Odessa, was in the middle of nowhere. There was an outdoor shooting range across the street, which made for interesting auditory distractions on holes parallel. I love the wildlife on a golf course. There were a billion birds, some surly snapping turtles, yet only one small alligator who didn't even reach six-foot.
Work is now crashing down on me. I don't know how I'm supposed to focus. Especially as my niece is in the other room, cooing happily, and I have to keep going over to see how she's doing and to try to make her giggle :)
