Trent Lott (thinking): Why doesn't he defend me? He's just standing there. Haven't I been a good Senate leader? Haven't the Republicans taken over again? Why does he just stand there? I need some help here. I'm really just gonna lose it, I swear. Have I done something to offend him? Something that I didn't realize? He just stands there and says nothing. What is he thinking?
