US politics
Dec. 8th, 2002 08:52 pmI've taken a cautious view toward the current presidential administration. I've long felt that W. has been deeply underestimated, mainly because he's a crappy public speaker. Doesn't mean he's always right, but his power, will, and ability is a lot more potent than, say, Quayle's ever was. Rumsfeld is always predictable, but he may be what we need in a time of war. Ashcroft is just as predictable, but exactly what we don't need in a time of war. Powell, I have always respected, but I'm growing cold on him as his influence seems to wane (and as he seems to accept it.) I'm thrilled with the double-axing of the money side of the cabinet. Cheney is surprisingly influential for a Veep, not just with W, but with the world. I can't recall a Vice President in history that seems to be as prominent. If it wasn't for his heart, he'd be president in 2012.
But, above everyone else in this government, I am quite in love with Condi Rice.
