Aug. 19th, 2002 06:47 pmLooking stormy outside. I was just getting my mail, and the cloud overhead was spiraling. Not quite a funnel cloud, but a definite circular pattern.
I forgot to post that last weekend in Florida I saw a waterspout forming. A big ol' thunderstorm about 5 or 10 miles ahead, and a funnel started to reach down over the intracoastal waterway. Didn't actually touch the water, but it was a pretty well defined funnel at the top part near the cloud. That makes the second waterspout I've seen. I've also seen a tornado. It's been almost 15 years since the first I've seen, and all three sightings have been within the same 50 mile area -- the Florida east coast, from Canaveral to Melbourne.
I haven't seen any in other places, and I've even lived in Omaha.
