Meme of the week

Today's meme of the week is an interesting one. Back a few years ago, when search engines like Yahoo, Lycos, and AltaVista were getting started, Wired Magazine came up with the term "Ego Search." To perform an Ego Search, you put your name (or alias) into a search engine and see if you're mentioned anywhere on the web.

This weeks meme is a varient of that... go to Google and put, in quotes, your name or alias followed by 'is':

Bah.

My video card fried itself. All I can see is 640x480 in 16 colors. Not 16 bits...16 colors period.

I am old enough, and have been around computers long enough, to know when 640x480x16 was considered unthinkable luxury. Hell...any color other than green or *shudder* amber (no offense, hellarad ;)

So a $10 video card goes bad. What to do? I bought a new computer. Heh. Well, this one I'm on now is four years old, a Celeron, and it really is kinda slow for the things I usually try to do with it (ahem, that's programming, take your minds out of the gutter). Pentium 4 1.8GHz, here I come!

It should be here Thursday. Meanwhile, I'm seeing LJ through a gigantic, strange filter of modern pointillism.
