Apr. 6th, 2002 10:21 amSo I slept later than I intended, and I'm expecting some equipment to be delivered FedEx for side-job-#1. The apartment complex office doesn't open until noon, so I can't take a shower or risk Karma (or Murphy, anyway) delivering the FedEx guy just as I have shampoo in my eyes. I'm dying, though, cuz I went to one of my top-3 restaurants last night and had dinner in the bar, which is usually in a haze of cigarette smoke. It doesn't seem that bad when I'm there, I mean, I can eat just fine and I usually can't eat if someone is blowing smoke up my nose. But now I smell it in my hair, even from 12 hours ago, and my hair is pretty short.
The restaurant was 10 Degrees South, the South African place down the road from me. They had that hake-like fish again, and this time I caught the name: Cape Capensis (aka, South African Hake). My God, this is an amazing fish. They pan-seared it, tossed on some blue-crab chunks, and had this lightly spicy peri-peri sauce that complimented this fish so well, I had to quiz the owner how he made it. He was appropriately vague ;)
