Tough to update with all the holidays and such, so here's a quick infodump of the last few days.

In a nutshell: Christmas was fun, fishing is bad due to high winds and cold temps, my vacation is already being interrupted by work (but I'm mostly avoiding it).

Cooked a four course meal for Christmas dinner, an annual tradition of mine and this year's was probably my best yet. I have some pics, but I'll probably post 'em tomorrow when I have more time.

I was warned that my brother's cat (my folks are catsitting as my brother is at his fiancee's family in Albuquerque) is psycho and that I should be careful -- she has hissed and scratched everyone in the house from my 87-year-old Grandmother on down. For some reason, though, the cat and I get along great. She follows me around everywhere (she's trying to help me type even now), sleeps curled up with me, purrs whenever I'm around...guess I have the touch (or maybe I'm just as "touched").

Finally (but not least), my meeting with [livejournal.com profile] sammystudio and [livejournal.com profile] lianna in Ft. Lauderdale Monday: We met for an outdoor, 70+ degree lunch at The Cove, which used to be one of my favorite places when I lived down there. It was still there, still on the Intracoastal where the boats can pull up and grab a quick meal or a Red Stripe. Sammy was pre-headshave at that point, and much the sweet, observant, intelligent, cool dude I met in Atlanta. A man of all trades, equally comfortable talking about art or auto mechanics, style or construction. Lianna was precisely as gorgeous as she appears in her journal pictures, with a dazzling, impish smile that goes all the way to her baby blue eyes and just forces you to grin along with her. She seems almost completely fearless whether it's food or fun. Therefore, I have, of course, fallen deeply in love with her and will challenge Sammy to a pistol duel at dawn in order to capture her heart. (Just seeing if you're still paying attention.)

Unfortunately, I had to finish Christmas shopping, and shop for some food for the aforementioned Christmas dinner, then drive the two hours back to Melbourne Beach, so the three of us had far too short of a time to really talk much *grumblegrumble*. Hopefully, we shall all meet again with more time on all of our hands :)
