The history of the martini (as one martini connoisseur says) is not nearly as clear as the martini itself. Doesn't really matter, as I dislike gin and am exclusively drawn to its fraternal twin, the vodka martini.

As I'm anywhere from 0%-50% Russian depending on where certain lines were drawn in several wars, I personally prefer Stolichnaya. Must be in the blood.
