A half-brained question
Aug. 1st, 2001 11:20 pmTurn off your left brain. Forget about logic, cause and effect. Dismiss evidence and investigation. There is no math. Forget your dogma -- ignore what Moses said, ignore what Jesus said, ignore that there is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet, ignore that this world is a mere illusion.
Open your right brain. Think of clouds shaped like puppies and rabbits. Be hypnotized by the dance of a candleflame. Savor the most beautiful memory of your favorite lover in times that may have passed long ago, yet still cause you to grin foolishly when no one is watching...
Ready?
My question:
Is there fate? Is there a pattern, a path, a destiny that shapes us as individuals apart from any influence of family, society, or genetics?
My answer: My left brain says no, which is why I shut it off. My right brain says I am piloting a river. Sometimes I move upstream, sometimes down. Yet, strong or light, I'm always pressured by current just below the surface.
What does your right brain say? What visual do you see guiding you not at this moment, but guiding you through the whole of your life?
Don't think. See it, sense it, experience it, and type it out.
Let me know.
