...in Atlanta. The wedding was fun. My wife and I stood with her father (so I was a groomsman and she was a groomslady). The bride (my step-mother-in-law?) had her daughter and daughter's boyfriend standing with her (a bridesmaid and bridesman). There was a bit of a surprise at the reception when my father in law said -- "Oh yeah, forgot to tell you -- you're making the toast". So I had to whip together a toast in 4 minutes and deliver it in front of an expectant crowd of 50 or so. Everyone laughed at the right parts and I guess I'm a natural ham, so it went well.

We took a side trip into Shipshewana, which is the central Amish community in Indiana. Shipshewana is kinda touristy, like that touristy town shown in that Harrison Ford movie, Witness. But then again, the Amish aren't quite as ascetic as shown in that movie, either -- it's an interesting cultural paradox to see an Amish horse-and-buggy picking up Gorditas in a Taco Bell drive through.

Y'all were chatty while I was gone -- I keep my friends list kinda trim so I'm not overwhelmed by entries (I know I could easily spend 10 hours a day vicariously absorbed in hundreds of lives). Still, there were something like 250 entries over the last three days. I read them all, couldn't comment on them all, but I may go back and comment on a few.

Hmmm...I wanted to post a brief blurb right here to a few on my friends list, but I'm too smashed with work to do it right -- every time I try it comes out sounding like I'm compressing complex thoughts about complex individuals into a trivial sentence or two, which is Newtonian to my intention (that is, equal yet opposite). I'll go back to some and comment, but in the mean time, know that I'm thinking of you and miss being able to talk more individually. Later in the week I should get back some of my stolen time.

However, I do want to say Happy (Late) Birthday to Glenn.

Hey, Michelle...I saw this for sale on the side of the road in a nearby neighboorhood:

Except the colors were reversed (white with red, not red with white). It's not a '68, but it was pretty!
