Driving home from work, I saw the following on a bumpersticker (if I remember it correctly):
"Man makes the plan, but Allah moves the foot"
It may be blasphemy in several religions, but it struck me how opposite that statement is to my own views. If there is God, Allah, Fate...hell, even Zeus, Hearn, or Loki, it seems to me that the divine is where the planning is made. The free will of man allows us to move the foot -- and many times it can be away from the plan, which may be why there's so many damn problems in the world.
