Dec. 27th, 2000 07:26 pmAck, sick. My throat feels like I've been gargling gravel, and I can't piece two consistent thoughts together in the randomly firing synaptic bundle of fat cells I (loosely) call my brain.
Went to North Indiana for Christmas -- we alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it was the inlaws' turn for Christmas. Fun relatives, but it was -4F when we got there, with 30 inches of snow. I shoveled snow for my grandmother-in-law...first time I've shoveled snow since HS a good 15 years ago. Flew in last night at 2AM, recovered the car from the subway station we parked it at, and passed out until about 10 this morning. Dragged my sorry ass into work and realized I had to give a presentation at 1PM. Made it through that, and a half-way decent rush hour (the traffic gods obviously felt pity), and I'm typing away now, hoping a good icy shot of Jack Daniels will kill whatever is tunneling through my eustachian tubes and ringing my ears.
BTW, late, but Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Yule, and a festive end to Ramadan.
Topazgrrl, thanks for the card :)
