I have ecclectic musical tastes (though I'm in awe of Sanssouci's range of taste). I like just about any music, especially if you figure that teen pop, like the Britney and Christina twins, are as much "music" as cotton candy is food. There are two types of music that I really can't get into, however. Those two types are Country & Western.

So, one of my star engineers is a big C&W fan, and she just moved to Atlanta. She signs up online for this Tell-a-Friend contest where you give the name of two friends...if they draw your name on the air, you have 15 minutes to call in and name your friends. If you do, you and your friends each get the $106.70 prize (the station in question is 106.7 FM). Well, they did and she did and she won, and I'm one of the friends she put down, so I get $106.70 out of thin air, and suddenly I remember that I do have a soft spot somewhere in the depths of my heart for a good ol' fashioned Willie Nelson crooning.

So, what to do with a hundred bucks and change that come out of nowhere? Eat well, that's what. Dawn and I are fans of good food, so we figure it's a good night to spend some cash at one of the better Atlanta dining establishments. Unfortunately, we have this sleety rain coming down, and it took me an hour forty-five to get home through paralyzed traffic, so we decided to eat a little closer to home tonight. We picked that New Orleans restaurant we like, as it's only an exit away.

The menu:
Cocktails: Me: Stoli Martini Dawn: Margaritia on the rocks, with salt.
Appetizers: Me: Seafood Gumbo (with crab, scallops, and shrimp, spicy and hearty roux) Dawn: Blue crab claws (in a roux/garlic sauce).
Entree Me: Crawfish Etoufee (nice and spicy, over rice) Dawn: Shrimp Ducky (roasted duck and shrimp in a spicy, yet mellow burgandy sauce over rice)
Dessert Me: Pappy Van Winkle 20 year old single barrel bourbon (supposedly 'The finest bourbon in the world'. Very mellow, and a hell of a kick....Dawn drove home). Dawn: Nutty Irishman coffee.

Total including tip (and as an ex-bartender, I always overtip): $85.
