Oct. 11th, 2000 03:07 pmThere's a memory leak in Crimson Skies that is annoying me. Fun game, but when you have to reboot after every mission, it takes some of the addiction out of it. No patch yet, just a bunch of annoyed gamers thinking that Microsoft rushed out yet another half-baked product.
Just got my tickets for Dallas on Monday. That's another in-and-out one day trip, and I don't have a weekend to recover this time.
Miami was fun. It was hot, humid, and rained that tropical rain (ie sunny, sunny, sunny, but pouring rain at the same time). Ah, I miss it. I realized I didn't miss the people too much, which makes South Florida a little like NYC -- a fun place to be, if there weren't so many people going out of their way to be annoying. Though, I guess since there are a lot of former NYC citizens in S. Florida, there may be a connection there. Beautiful flight in -- blue-green ocean below the plane, a narrow strip of city ahead, then Everglades to the horizon.
Been a chilly week since then. I've had to scrape frost off the car all week, and our first frost isn't normally until Thanksgiving. You know you're in a freak cold spell when North Dakota has an expected high of 71, and Atlanta's is 55.
